Enterprise UX: Secure PII Workflows & Data Handling + Compliance-Driven UI Patterns & Components + Micro-interaction Prototypes + Developer-Ready Annotated Screens & Flows

Designing the system that keeps the restaurant industry compliant.

Project Overview- Called in as sole UX designer to take ownership of a high-stakes regulatory platform for the National Restaurant Association — managing laws, certifications, PII, training approvals, and renewals across 200+ screens spanning 52 state and territory associations.

Design Challenge- Regulatory accuracy was non-negotiable — errors in a compliance system carry real legal and operational consequences. The challenge was designing for zero ambiguity across 200+ screens while meeting a hard delivery deadline.

Goal- Achieve zero-defect UX across a live regulatory system with legal and operational stakes — delivered on a fixed deadline.

Result- Delivered annotated prototypes and dev-ready specs that shipped on schedule. Stakeholders at the National Restaurant Association cited the work as collaborative, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused — see Accolades.

Role- Sole UX Designer on project: responsible for all design decisions, annotations, and prototypes from mid-project through delivery.

Developer-Ready Specs at Enterprise Scale

Meticulous Figma annotations and prototypes documented secure PII workflows—highlighting validation, micro-interactions, and input rules—so overseas developers could ship fast and error-free.

Regulations at Scale

Joined an in-progress nationwide system spanning 52 state and territory associations, each with distinct food service codes, certifications, and local ordinances varying down to the city and county level.

Finished and refined 200+ screens, translating this regulatory complexity into a clear, searchable internal interface with precision annotations and micro-interaction prototypes covering every screen and state.

The system organized 25 regulatory categories across five domains: laws and regulations, training, certifications, program approvals, and special requirements — each with multiple subsections reflecting the full scope of nationwide compliance.

Enterprise Component System

Shadcn/UI components were customized to match the brand, ensuring clarity and smooth implementation.
